One year ago, August 2010, the Boise housing market had 3,935 homes listed for sale and saw 473 closed sales happen. But this August we only had 2,481 homes listed on the MLS (a 37% decrease in volume!) and 668 closed sales happen (a 30% increase in sales). It doesn’t take a degree in economics to know that’s a good thing if you are looking to sell your home right now. Even better, prices seem to be stabilizing (as you would expect) which should give some comfort to buyers who are looking to buy.
